The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted an inspiring development to expand Tamil Nadu’s SC/ST Startup Fund. It was originally allocated Rs 30 crore and may increase to Rs 50 crore following overwhelming interest.
Plans are in motion to provide funding to startups founded by transgender and disabled entrepreneurs. The focus of state government on strengthening innovation across different demographics and sectors signals an understanding of the economic as well as social potential that comes with true inclusivity.
The launch of the Periyar Social Justice Venture Lab is another significant milestone. The lab is especially relevant in a world grappling with sustainability issues.
Tamil Nadu is also facilitating global opportunities for its startups by establishing a startup coordination center in Dubai and soon to expand to Singapore and the United States.
