The job market is evolving at a rapid pace equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and big data at the forefront. Future of Jobs Report 2025 released by World Economic Forum (WEF) reveals that these fields are to dominate the workforce by 2030.
The report has been prepared on the basis of insights from 1,000+ global companies. It reveals that technological advancements, economic shifts and sustainability efforts are shaking up industries worldwide. We are looking at 22% of jobs being disrupted by 2030, but it is also going to be true that about 170 million new roles would be created. AI, machine learning, cybersecurity and big data specialists are among the fastest-growing jobs.
Emerging Jobs & Excitement
AI and big data are not just two buzzwords now, but they are becoming the backbone of many industries. Roles like software developers, FinTech engineers and security specialists are gaining prominence. These are offering opportunities for those who are willing to adapt and learn. Non-digital roles like farmworkers, delivery drivers and nursing professionals are also expected to grow in good numbers. This means that the shift is not just about tech jobs.

The Indian Scenario

However, the rapid change also comes with some downsides. Traditional roles like postal service clerks and data entry operators are expected to decline.

One concern highlighted in the WEF report is that the automation is a double-edged sword. It is learned that 77% of companies are investing in training their employees, but 41% of them are also plan to reduce their workforce due to automation.
