What You Need to Know about CBD and your Skin

CBD Awareness

Recently, you may have heard about a new ingredient in skincare that is taking the market by storm. That ingredient is CBD oil, and there’s a reason for it. It’s actually incredibly helpful for your skin.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid that you might know of from cannabis but is actually derived from industrial hemp. This plant has become more well known as it has become more legal throughout the world, which means that CBD is much more accessible for all sorts of products to help to make your life easier.

When a person takes CBD, it acts as a mild sedative that helps to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure and help with your overall mental health. It can even help you to have more control over your skin and the way it reacts to the world around you.

How does CBD help Your Skin?

CBD helps your skin in a few different ways. By reducing inflammation and controlling the amount of sebum that your sebaceous glands produce, you are much less likely to find yourself dealing with breakouts.

Acne will not be as difficult to deal with when your skin is less inflamed, and your skin is going to be happier and healthier when there’s less of your skin’s natural oils all over it. Using it gives you more control over the amount of moisture in your skin, which is great for your skincare routine. By reducing the symptoms of your anxiety, you’re also less likely to pick at your skin or touch your face. This will make it easier for you in the long run.

How can You Use CBD?

One of the most popular ways to take CBD oil is to put drops of the pure distilled oil under your tongue. This helps the CBD to get into your system quickly and easily without having to worry about adding it to anything else.

The other popular way to use CBD for your skin is to use it as a topical oil or infused in another type of face cream. These work well because the CBD oil helps to replace the oil you’re removing but in smaller amounts. This helps you to stay moisturized. However, there is a possibility that you could be allergic to the CBD if you have any other issues with grass allergies. Before you put it on the tender skin of your face, make sure to try it out in a small area on your hand or arm.

What Should You Watch Out For with CBD?

When you are trying CBD, you will also want to double-check. It will not interact with any other medications that you take. Some of the medicines that can have problems with CBD are anticonvulsants, SSRIs and sleep medicine. CBD can also create an issue for those with liver problems. If these are issues that you are known to have, make sure you talk to your doctor before starting to use it.
