An Education Company, named XSEED Education, headquartered in Singapore, acquired Chennai, India-based EdTech startup Report Bee for an unrevealed amount, as reported. XSEED is known to seek to make it easier for making real-time assessments for the schools, conceptualise personalised student feedback and also to analyse data to diagnose teaching apps, according to the additional reports.

Ananthraman Mani, Bala Ganesh S. and Anjan T founded Report Bee in 2011, providing a cloud-based software solution that sanctions schools to access report and analyse the performance of students, classes and teachers separately. Post this acquisition, all three Report Bee founders will join the XSEED technology product group.

“This is an important step towards becoming a complete education technology company. Report Bee brings on board capabilities in analytics, reporting, personalised assessment, and product design that compliment the XSEED Method, products and philosophy. We are excited to welcome on board the talented and enthusiastic Report Bee team,”claimed Ashish Rajpal, founder and CEO of XSEED, who is also a Harvard graduate. He further added, “While there is a lot of noise around the world about the potential EdTech, there are very few stories about the actual improvement of learning inside the classroom. XSEED is one of them.”

Earlier in September 2015, Report Bee also raised an unrevealed amount in angel funding round led by India Educational Investment Fund that led to an early stage impact investment fund completely protected by Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Also, back in June 2016, the startup received non-equity formulated assistance from Microsoft Accelerator Bangalore.

Apart from the Report Bee platform, XSEED also acquired Delhi-based Pleolabs, lately in 2015. Pleolabs is the platform that develops online technologies for teachers, students, parents, and administrators. XSEED functions on a world-wide note where it reaches almost nearly a million children in 8 countries and has outnumbered the team of 350 members so far, being headquartered in Singapore with its development centres in Delhi and Bangalore respectively.

Referring to what attracted Report Bee to XSEED, Ananth Raman Mani, founder of Report Bee stated,“What made us bet on Report Bee’s future with XSEED is the opportunity to make a truthful impact in the school education space. Report Bee’s technology and analytics expertise compliment XSEED product and mission. The market is now ripe for many more disruptions and we believe we can move faster together.”

XSEED works notably for a greater cause, influencing a large number of countries and thereof, implementing its method to around 3,000 schools across India, Philippines, Dubai, Riyadh, Qatar and Oman. XSEED Education serves over 1,000,000 children as of now, while in 2018 the XSEED method was practised with an estimate of 3,000 schools across Asia, that served children from birth to around thirteen years old children.
